The Comet GP-6 is a 2m/70cm dual band vertical base antenna. It is constructed of a two section heavy duty fiberglass radome with nonconducting ABS section connections to eliminate corrosion and help reduce stray RF, ensuring a very clean radiation pattern. Like all Comet antennas, it is pre-tuned, so installation is quick and easy. Just put the sections together, tightening them up, and secure them to a mast with the supplied stainless steel brackets

Insist on Comet, There is a difference

This is not a 'scientific' review, I don't have the equipment for such a thing. It's basically an experiencing the difference sort of thingy. I've used practically everything from a home made 1/4 wave through a 'J'-pole to vertical 1/2 wave etc. The GP-6 has a hear-able increase in signal over them, a pronounced one.
You have to pay attention to the assembly instructions, don't just 'wing it'. If you take reasonable care, the antenna goes together very nicely.
It doesn't 'do' miracles but it certainly does work as it should and what else can you expect?
Would I get another one? Yes.
