   I purchased this model to try and receive the ISS repeater listening to both the uplink and downlink at the same time. I does the job very well.
   
   Programming was easy for me as ICOM seems to use the same system/menu over the past few years. TX audio reports have been great and the RX audio is easy to listen too with the internal speakers.

   A great radio with a lot of features, I love the Cross Band Feature and large display. I manufactured my own remote display mounts out of 90 degree brackets. I wish Icom would include the mounting bracket with the unit, I just happened to have a bracket from an older Icom that fit perfect. MTC is now my preferred Ham Radio supplier, great customer service.

   Great dual band radio at a great price. Easy to program from the front of the radio . Nice addition to my shack as the IC-2730a is now my primary VHF radio.

   I ordered this radio to replace an old Kenwood TM-732 dual band radio that I have had for over 20 years ago.
   I love the big display on this radio, it makes it very easy to see what repeater you have up. The dual controls is very nice, you can switch between different repeater / simplex channels with just one button.
   I love order from Main Trading, they are quick in processing and shipping out orders. I love to support a local mom and pop business over a chain store.

7. Good rig for the price.

   The only real knock for me is the white background is hard to see in the sun. My head unit is on the dash in the same place as my previous ID-880H which was easily seen. I did figure out if I set the contrast to its highest setting of 10 it did make the numbers somewhat darker & a bit easier to see. A major plus was the fact I could use my existing remote/control cables from my previous install which saved at least 2 hours on the install. Even though the separation kits carry different part numbers they are the same. It was funny that I contacted Icom to ask what the difference, if any, between the 2 cables & there answer was we don't know. Great radio & I would suggest it to anyone looking for a true dual bander.
