SSB FM, Am, and CW never sounded so crystal clear! Plug in this MFJ ClearTone speaker and bring out communication speech fidelity that you never knew existed. It restore the smooth sound of sinewaves that CW naturally generates and make it easy to copy. THE MFJ-281 ClearTone speaker was carefully designed to improve the intelligibility of speech in the frequency range of 600 to 4000Hz while reducing undesirable noise, static, and hum.
A top grade 3 inch Mylar cone speaker is mounted in a well designed speaker baffle. A fine mesh metal grille allows sound to radiate without being muffled. Versatile swivel mounting bracket lets you direct sound where you want it. 8 Watts. 8 Ohms, 6ft cord, 3.5mm mono plug.

Compact 3 ¼" x 3" x 2 ¼".

    This speaker has the best frequency response when dealing with SSB signals. Smaller than most external speakers, but packs a punch! With this speaker, SSB signals are clearer and much easier to understand than typical full range speakers. It's about time that external speakers finally have been considered when designing one for a specific use as are speakers for live sound... such as bass cabinets for bass guitars, kid range cabinets for electric guitars and so on. The same thought processes were put to use in this xternal speaker. It is the best accessories investment I've to date. Great job MFJ... keep up the great work!! I'm buying a couple more of the 281's to replace other external speakers I have. Thanks Main Trading for having the smarts to carry a great product. This kind of forward thinking keeps me buying at Main Trading!!

    This is a small speaker with a lot of voice power. Its better than most onboard speakers and is particularly well suited for ham rig type voice.

    This speaker gets the best possible clarity of sound I have been able to find even in the more expensive name brand speakers for a very low price.

    Needed a speaker for my Icom IC-2720H, and looked at the ICOM site for a speaker. They wanted $30+ for one.

    Saw the MFJ and decided to try it. It is very good. Crisp and clear audio - communications quality. I wear hearing aids and so a good speaker is important. This one fits the bill.
