Very simple to operate, you can be up and running in 3 minutes or less. No programming needed, just your zip code. Once your Zip Code is entered, BCD536HP will load Police, Fire and EMS channels in your area.
The BCD536HP-1 is Uniden's new flagship mobile scanner...which incorporates two firsts. Like the BCD436HP, it is the first standard mobile scanner to include the ease of use of the HomePatrol-style database; simply enter your zip code and away you go. But, the BCD536HP adds to that WiFi connectivity, allowing you to listen to and control your scanner using your smartphone or tablet...from anywhere in your home, vehicle, or around the world.

The scannner works well. The equipment is fine but the Bearcat group assumes that everyone wants to download and listen to what they provide. Many frequencies are not provided nor easily accessed that would be of interest locally. Frequencies in my area are not listed or they are incorrect in terms of frequency. The manual is of little use to the owner. No explaination of how to receive or use TDMA (X2) is provided. In programming I was at a loss be a HAM and a commercial two-way person.

The unit works fine.
Wish the back light could be a little brighter.
I would recommended this unit.

After finally receiving this Scanner and having a week to play with it, this is the Very best Digital scanner ever produced. This puppy receives extremely well and has the Best Digital audio I have ever heard. MTC shipped it quick and even insured for shipping damages. I most defiantly recommend this scanner to anyone who takes scanning seriously. I highly recommend purchase from MTC as well.

The BCD536HP by far outperforms my Radio Shack scanners from decoding digital to receiving channels that aren't close by to me!
