Why Black Friday Starts Early at MTC Radio

Our year-end deals start November 1, not just Black Friday. Here’s why we start early, why trade-in quotes shouldn’t wait, and what to know before stock sells out.

Why Black Friday Starts Early at MTC Radio

If you’ve been with us for a few years, you probably know what November looks like at MTC Radio: we’re working hard to empty the store before the year ends, and there are some great deals along the way.

This isn’t just a Black Friday weekend event. We start November 1 and keep pushing through roughly the second week of December. Our goal is to finish the year with shelves cleared, debts paid, and hopefully a little left over. We normally don’t replenish inventory until after the first of the year, and this year is no different.

Why start before Black Friday?

Because we’re a small company, and we want to get your orders out the door. If we squeezed thousands of orders into one weekend, we’d spend weeks catching up on shipping. Spreading things out gives our team a better chance to keep orders moving.

It also means you don’t necessarily have to wait until Black Friday to find a good price. Many items are already marked down as low as you’ll see them this year. Sometimes the better opportunity is earlier in November, while we still have more inventory to choose from.

When Black Friday arrives, we’ll be working to move what’s left. But the item you’ve had your eye on may already be gone. Waiting for a lower price can turn into waiting until next year.

Will everything be discounted early?

Not everything. Some products have pricing restrictions that limit when we can advertise or offer a lower price. Many Icom products, for example, are subject to strict MAP or MRP pricing policies.

Icom has sometimes relaxed those restrictions around the holidays, but not every year. We don’t yet know whether that will happen this time, so we’re not going to promise a discount we can’t confirm.

Thinking about a trade-in? Get your quote now.

We’ve been encouraging everyone to get trade-in requests in early, and this is why: if you wait until Black Friday weekend, we may not be able to get your quote finished before the item you want sells out.

Getting your quote ahead of time puts you in a much better position to act. If the item you want goes on sale, you can make your purchase and then send your trade-in gear according to the arrangements in your quote, rather than starting the whole process while inventory is disappearing.

In short: get the trade-in conversation started now, not when the deal you want is already on the screen.

When it’s gone, we can’t backorder it at the sale price

Much of our year-end inventory is sold very close to cost, and some items even below cost. These prices are about moving the inventory we have, not ordering more to replace it.

We can’t accept backorders at these sale prices. Once an item sells out, we can’t promise another one at the same price.

Keep checking back throughout November

Watch our daily deals, browse the Limited Time Deals category, and take a look at our used gear. There’s more to our year-end sale than one big shopping weekend, and many of the deals are already here.

Visit mtcradio.com to see what’s available. We really do try to empty this place by the second week of December. The shelves could use a little breathing room, and so could we.

Thank you for another awesome year at MTC. Your business, your trade-ins, and your continued support mean a great deal to our small team.

73,
Richard and the MTC Radio team
